GCI Celebrates 907 Day with free museum admissions and local perks

907 Day is celebrated September 7 across Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – On September 7, GCI is joining Alaskans across the state to celebrate 907 Day, a day that recognizes Alaska’s iconic area code and the communities it connects. As an Alaska born and raised company and the state’s largest telecommunications provider, GCI is proud to once again take part in this uniquely Alaskan tradition with special offers, community partnerships and a spotlight on local culture.

“907 Day is all about celebrating what connects us, from the landscapes to the people,” said Tiffany Vassar, GCI Senior Manager of Contributions and Events. “It’s exciting to be part of something that brings so many Alaskans together, and we’re grateful to our partners for helping make this celebration even more meaningful.”

GCI is partnering with several museums and cultural institutions on 907 Day to offer free admission to Alaska residents:

One partner organization, the UA Museum of the North, saw more than 1,100 Alaskans visit during last year’s 907 Day event.
“We were thrilled by the positive energy and turnout last year,” said Aelin Allegood, Development Officer at the UA Museum of the North. “The museum was filled with joy and community spirit, and we’re excited to once again be part of this special day alongside GCI and thank you for supporting this celebration of Alaskans across the state!”

As part of the festivities, GCI is also offering customers 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles and a free limited-edition 907 Day sticker when they visit a local GCI store for an account review.

Alaskans are encouraged to join in the celebration by tagging @gciak on Instagram and using #907Day to share their experiences whether exploring a museum, heading into the outdoors, or simply enjoying time with their neighbors.
