GCI offers free back-to-school backpacks with new internet, mobile sign-ups

The offer is available at GCI’s Bethel, Utqiagvik, Dillingham, Dutch Harbor, Kotzebue, and Nome retail stores

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Just in time for school to ramp back up, GCI is giving away free backpacks stocked with school supplies in select communities to customers who sign up for new internet or mobile service. The back-to-school backpacks are available at GCI’s Bethel, Utqiagvik, Dillingham, Dutch Harbor, Kotzebue, and Nome retail stores. The offer is first come, first served while supplies last.  

“We’re happy to support Alaska’s youth as they prepare to head back to school,” said GCI Chief Marketing Officer Kate Slyker. “These back-to-school backpacks are a perfect complement to GCI’s internet and mobile connectivity as students navigate the upcoming school year.”

Each backpack includes:

  • 17-inch backpack (assorted colors)
  • 1 pack of five crayons
  • 1 sharpener with dome cover (assorted colors)
  • 2 pink erasers
  • 1 two-pocket folder (assorted colors)
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 highlighter
  • 70-page spiral notebook (assorted colors)
  • 1 pack of three pencils
  • 1 pack of three pens (blue and black)
  • 12-inch ruler (assorted colors)
  • 1 pencil case (assorted colors)
